Teresa K on Sep 29, 2013We had a renter destroy a bedroom with graffiti (sharpie marker, crayon, ball point pens, & pencil marks). Most of the marks were able to be removed with TSP (trisodium phosphate) and a Magic Eraser which we found at Home Depot. The red sharpie marker kept bleeding through the paint even with multiple applications. We what finally resorted to scraping off the mark with a putty knife and then repaired the area with drywall compound, sanding it smooth after it dried and then repainting the area. I believe there is also a product on the market made by Kilz that can be painted on like a wall primer that is good for killing stains. Check with your local home improvement store's paint department for this product.Helpful Reply

Shell Stuart on Sep 30, 2013We have taken dark flat paint and painted over it first. Does well in hiding those marks. Like almost black brown or black. We have a store that Idaho habitate for humanities. It is called The Restore. They get everything donated from the smallest screw and up. Once we covered the marks all with dark flat paint, then we went back over with like eggshell semi gloss paint. Works well. I got 6 rentals and trust me this is mild compared what they could do!Helpful Reply
