The first step is to remove the carpeting.Next the wallpaper.Once that is done I would strip the cabinets and if possible stain them in a lighter color and change the hardware.Once the cabinet color is determined the wall color will come in play. Last change out the shades (roman maybe )for a more current look.

I agree with Janet Pizaro...removing your carpet is your first step. You can probably remove the box around the tub, or paint it , or tile it in white subway tiles. it is also possible to paint your counter top. Do a search on Pinterest for ideas about painting.

I would like to keep the plum and coordinate color on wall and cabinet. Any ideas!

Plum looks l wonderful with olive green, chartreuse, marigold yellow, dark beige and gray. Yellow ocher and metallic gold too. Go on pinterest and look for Plum color pallets and pick the colors you like. I would make the walls light gray, and go from there. Take that carpet up. It is bacteria infested from being in moist area. Put matching window covering up. I would do a roman shade or a woven shade something from Lowes or Home Depot to keep cost down. The vanity can be painted in a matching color. Also paint the trim in white.

remove the rug...perhaps tile the floor in white to tie in the toilet, tub and sink. If you want to stick with and expand the plum...go with an ombre look in plum. Lighter walls and medium on all the wood...

Paint the walls and the unit before you remove the carpet as you might like it, but keep the top plum to match the carpet, you need to paint it a light colour and use the plum as a accent colour

Paint the walls a light neutral color. Top it off with a painted plum colored ceiling and updated accessories. Keep the plum and run with it. I did the same with blue.

    1. Rip out the carpet and replace with ceramic rectangle white tiles that look like wood planks. 2. Take off wallpaper and paint a medium grayish color. Ceiling white 3. Paint the cabinets and mirror frame white. I would actually change the mirrors to gorgeous ornate whit mirrors of your choice for a bit of Pop. 4. If you have the budget.. replace the vanity top with a double sink or very large rectangle single sink with a marble top. Replace wine bath tiles with marble tiles. 5. Done. Accessories

If I had that bathroom and money,I would gut it.

Some of this may be a repeat, I would paint the wood trim and vanity white. Remove the wallpaper and paint in a color lighter than sink color. Update sink faucet. Add roman shades to windows in place of blinds with your accent color in it. Tile the floor with large tiles.

I would paint the walls a light gray and then paint the cabinets in the same color family as the gray, but darker. If you can afford, replace the sink (white) and faucet (brushed nickel). New knobs and pulls can be purchased on eBay for cheap!

I have no decorating skills to help you but I did want to mention how cool it is that you have so many windows in a bathroom!! Loving it! I would keep that in mind picking out paint colors tho....a white paint might become blinding white with that much natural light coming in. I would think you could get away with darker colors in this bathroom!

I would go with a cream color to match your sink, and remove the wallpaper and paint that accordingly, and then make sure all of your window coverings match, again experiment with dark brn paint on the windows to add contrast to the wall cream color paint, experiment with a little bit at a time

I 'updated' three bathrooms by painting all the cabinets white. Made it so bright and cheery. Paint the trim around the mirrors the same color as cabinets, makes the room seem larger. I started with a primer paint "Cover Stain", which helped a lot because my cabinets were very dark. I also painted my countertops with a kit, but found I could use any good quality paint as a base and then acrylics for marble effects. Top with a good quality top coat. I'm super happy with my results. Replace the sink fixture for another update.

You mentioned that you wanted to keep the plum accessories......and mentioned you were putting laminate down. I would remove the wallpaper and paint the walls white and paint the cabinet white like your tub and stool. I would get handles fot the cabinet...maybe chrome like your faucets. And pretty everything up with sheer curtains ...maybe plum or white colored blinds, if you prefer.

First...if that wallpaper doesn't come off very easily..i.e. if they didn't size it first..just paint a little darker than just white on top of it (beige) and leave that window casing alone..it looks nice. I paint over wallpaper alot and I give you permission.lol...then I'd paint those wooden base cabinets Rustoleum Painters Touch (kona brown)...no priming..no sanding prep work. This stuff is the bombdiggity. Lasts forever..and is pre-mixed...and no i dont have any ties to rustoleum..just love it!!

I would go white, white, white.... see what is under the carpet and if it is good timber rip the carpet out and / or look at other flooring options. You can then use colour's in your accessories.

what is it with white? I cannot see white working in this room. You need something like antique cream on your walls and the rest should look fine. You could paint some of the cabinet doors, ie just the inserts or just the surrounds. You could try printing your picture on a home printer , just on A4 and then colour in some and see if you like the results.

I just did mine over the summer white cabinets/trim light grey walls

maybe think about white cabinets and trim. Also hardware on cabinets and updated faucets. Also maybe a chandelier over tub to give focal point and character. Light gray walls (however not sure of floor color). Make all three window coverings match for a designer touch. Circle Area carpet to bring colors all together and give unexpected touch rather than typical in front of cabinets

Definitely replace the carpet with either tile or wood laminate flooring. Very light gray on the walls and a darker gray on the cabinets would look good with the countertops.

I did my bathroom over last year. Light gray tiles on lighter gray walls. Vanity is a darker gray. Trim is white. Looks great. Take up that carpet, and have tiles put in or at least vinyl. Something easy to keep clean. Put the same covering on the windows or frost the windows with spray.

I love that tub! I would definitely take out the carpet and install tile that is waterproof. Two places carpet does not wear well is the bathroom and the kitchen.
