Terri Mitchell on Oct 14, 2016I used the cans to store my delicate Christmas ornaments. I would wrap them in paper towels or tissue paper. I still have most of the cans though now the lids are cracking. (My daughter is now 31)Helpful Reply

Randy on Oct 14, 2016If you remove the label there is probably a plain silver colored base. You can use wallpaper to cover the can for display of objects. They make a great holder for pens and pencils.Helpful Reply

Deanna Nassar on Oct 14, 2016Storage for most anything small. Pens, pencils, paper clips, rubber bands, sewing materials like pins or clips. Hair pins, pony tail holders, stamps, return labels. Make a desk organizer. Plant pots for herbs that you may be sharing with friends. Kids will turn them into drums. If you go camping freeze water in them to use as ice packs.Helpful Reply

Donna on Oct 14, 2016I don't know if these formula cans are paper or tin but Hometalk has a slideshow about tin can uses. I loved the bird feeder. I have several pringles canisters (paper, tall) that I don't know what to do with but I keep saving them LOLHelpful Reply

Jart57 on Oct 14, 2016Remove paper on outside. If they are cardboard you may have to lightly sand where glue is. Paint with chalk paint. decorate your way. I am going to print a label backwards and hand rub onto can. (when you place print side on can it will be facing the right way). Making paper flowers because silk ones are to expensive.Helpful Reply

C. Bousquet on Oct 14, 2016If metal, you can make luminaries. Clean, fill with water, freeze. When solid, drill design into frozen can. Thaw, drain, paint,. decorate. Use fake candles. All set. We used at my nephew's wedding. You could use for Christmas to line walkway up to house.Helpful Reply

Jamie Boyce on Oct 15, 2016How about building blocks (lightweight with no sharp corners) for the youngster in bright colors with fun pictures, shapes, and/or letters? Later they can be used for sorting games (ie; put all the triangles in the triangle bin, etc.). Lots of possibilities.Helpful Reply

GoddessOdd on Oct 15, 2016Does anyone remember the ottomans we used to make with large cans (the kind tomato juice comes in). Arrange six in a circle, tape them together with duct tape. Top with another six arranged the same way. Wrap the whole thing in a couple layers of cardboard. These made a sturdy base that could be topped with a piece of foam and wrapped in batting and fabric. I don't know how sturdy these are, but they might make cute child sized "poufs" -- lightweight enough for a toddler to move around on their own, and a good size for a child booster seat or to pull up to a coffee table for play time. OR, arrange these on their sides in a pattern that pleases you, paint to match the nursery or play room, glue them together and use as mini-shelves, to hold socks, wipes, bibs, or small toys in one neat place.Helpful Reply

Phillipcardjr on Oct 19, 2016Drp6149, Jamie Boyce, and GoddessOdd each have great suggestions. Since formula cans are food safe you could add candies or the like and use them as gifts for the holiday or any time you wanted to treat someone. You might want to decorate the can so they wont wonder whats up.( I now see Papajoe had a similar suggestion).Helpful Reply

Roses12 on Oct 24, 2016I use to cover them in nice colourful contact that you put on school books or on shelves and use them for the kids to put their small toys in & then label each one, e.g pencils, leggo, toy cars etc. they were very useful, as they have lids, so it kept everything neat and tidy.Helpful Reply
