Styling a Dual Purpose Cart

I recently purchased a retro cart complete with glitter wheels and space shaped lines. Hello 1950's in a very good way. My plan was to use it for inside my sun room for a side table but also wheel it outside to use as a table when grilling. It was important to me to accessorize it to make it beautiful and functional. I also put a few fun DIY touches on the cart. Check out my blog post for all the details!
My multi-purpose cart!
This is what the cart looked like when I bought it.
When I style something I grab items from all over my house that aren't in use or could be better in the new space.
A modge podge glitter letter works as a coast!
The yellow cart ties in with stenciled yellow pillow.
I love this wooden buffalo a lot. It's weird but true.

I have a retro cart that I am getting ready to makeover. Do you have any suggestions on how I could put a rail around the top like yours?

@Teresa Sounds like a fun project! One way to make railings on the top of a cart would be to get towel holders that attach to walls (normally) and screw them onto the cart. You could find a style that works best for you. Also, door hardware for cabinets could also be fun for shorter ends and the sides. As for how to make them retro on the sides perhaps you could attach little rubber covers to the ends of the towel holders (I'm envisioning a rubber stopper - like a giant pencil eraser that you stick onto pencils except in black). What were you thinking? Does any of this sound like something that could bring your vision to life? Anyone else have other ideas?

I love yours! I found mine (just like it different color) at a yard sale. It was rusty and ready to be thrown out so I got it for $1. I painted it then found a fabulous 50's BBQ much like it and painted them like colors - put them on my front porch as well!! Great job!
