Easy Steps to Solve Lawn Drainage Problems

Do you have drainage problems in your lawn or yard? Many times simply directing water away from porches and foundations is enough to solve the problem, but sometimes it calls for some type of French Drain.
A French drain at it's simplest is a trench dug in the problem area and filled with stones. Sometimes a perforated drain is included. To solve our specific lawn drainage problem, I modified the actual French drain system a bit based on our specific topography.

How to solve drainage problems in your lawn.
Dig a trench for water runoff and dig a sump at the end of the trench into which the water will fill and then weep into the surrounding ground.
Fill trench with stone.

    bottom of grade in yard gets wet.Do I put stone then dirt in layers or stone then dirt???
