Clean a glass top stove

Question

I have some burn on stuff on my glass top stove I really would like to get it back to clean any help please & thank you

a really sharp razor blade will remove the burnt on crud, but before you use it, you need to spray on a good quality cleaning agent to help soften the stuff. We cleaned a used glass top stove a few years ago and we sprayed the surface with oven cleaner. We used rubber gloves with a new safety razor and it came out lke new. Just be sure to use it with care and you should be successful.

1. Use scraper (my stove came with one- holds single edge razor blade to remove burned-on mess.
2. Soft Scrub and teflon safe scrub sponge, and give it good scrub, remove with a couple of paper towels
3. Repeat if necessary. Finish with a Windex-type product and paper towels. Like New!!

I have used cooktop magic in the past when we had a glass cooktop in a rental house we lived in. It works wonderfully, but sometimes the razor blade is also needed. It scrapes gunk right off without too much elbow grease.

My husband used to work for a glass company. 0000 steel wool with a little water will remove the crud without scratching the top. I know they say not to use steel wool, but the 0000 steel wool is actually more gentle than a scotchbrite pad. I completely freaked out the first time I saw him using steel wool on our glass top stove, but he was right. It didn't cause any scratches, and it removed the cooked on crud left on it by the previous owners easier than anything else we tried. But it HAS to be the 0000 steel wool. You can't just use any kind, because the other will scratch it.
