A Tin of Chocolates Long Gone Turned Into a Christmas Tree

Last Christmas someone gave a tree-shaped tin of chocolates. After they were gone I put it away because I knew I would want to do something as it neared Christmas
I had my husband help me drill holes on the lid.
Started with a single hole at the top
Flattened them out with a hammer so I would not cut myself.
I painted the entire tin brown with some paint I had laying around. Today I bought a battery operated string of lights with teenie tiny lights on a wire-like string and proceeded to lay the holes. This part was not too much fun but I used clear packing tape to hold the little bulbs on each hole.
Ithese are the lights I bought
Done! I thing it may end up on my bookcase this Christmas.

I'm curious as why you painted it brown. Did you paint it brown then green? I can see the writing on the picture of the tree completed. Is that why you painted it brown?
