Jennifer @ Decorated Chaos on Oct 19, 2016Yes, I prefer Bona products. Both the cleaner and the polisher....you can see how I used it here http://decoratedchaos.blogspot.com/2014/11/ge...Helpful Reply

Johnchip on Oct 20, 2016If you are having them professionally reifnished, listen to the sugegstions of the pro, but empasize your dog nail issue as your priority. The 'shinier the finishes, the harder and more durable they are . If you want most dog proof, think gym floor finishes sold in most hardware stores, or marine varnishes used on boats like varathane as opposed to a poly.Helpful Reply

Paulette White on Nov 13, 2016We refinished floors which were heart pine in an old house around 150 years old. I first cleaned them with ammonia, wear a respirator. Then we put on a coat of shellac, tinted like the original. They look amazing. Good luck.Helpful Reply

Contrax Contax on Nov 14, 2016I'm sure the floors will look beautiful when completed. I suggest sanding them down 1st with professional equipment. This will remove any scratches and blemishes left by your pet. Apply several finishing coats of your color choice. For more flooring tips see www.contraxcontax.com/blogHelpful Reply
