Are you a fabric hoarder like me? I have scraps upon scraps of decorator fabric I have “saved” for that one project I "might" do one day. Well that day has come!
I found the perfect project to try to decoupage fabric method. This old Dresser I found for FREE! You won't believe how easy it was to make this old dresser over.

I started by thoroughly cleaning the dresser with a TSP Solution. (Remove the the hardware first). This will get rid of all the grease, dirt and gunk. You can use a mild detergent and hot water too. TSP is good at getting rid of all the excess oil that might be on the surface. Next, I lightly sand the piece with a 220 Grit sandpaper.
I painted the entire piece in Debi's DIY Paints in Weathered Grey. It is the perfect Soft Grey with a warm tone. To get an idea of how I wanted the fabric to look, I placed it over each drawer and rearranged until I got the look I wanted.

I used Debi's DIY Liquid Patina to Decoupage the Fabric onto the Drawers. Liquid Patina is clear Top Coat, but works better than regular Decoupage Medium and is so easy to use. Check out my video to see the how to on Decopuaging.
Once the Liquid Patina was dry, I did a second coat over the entire dresser and the drawers.
The dresser now lives in my Master Bedroom closet! You might think that's a funny place to put a dresser, but it's a little too girly for my husband, and it makes my closet a fun place for my clothes now!
