Adding to the bath...or converting the bath to a kitchen. The latter is quite easy. Most vanities drains are 1 1/4" and kitchens are 1 1/2" This is sized of the "p-trap" assembly. A smaller one with work just fine but my tend to drain just a tad slower. Chances are high the pipe in the wall is 1 1/2" you could install an adapter there and work your way back to the sink. Adding a second drain will require a fair amount more work as the wall will need to be opened up and new lines run for both venting and draining.

You have to connect the sink's drain to the main waste drain AND it needs to be vented or nothing will ever go down it. If you don't know what you're doing, it's better to have a plumber do it. The connection to the main drain is not one for an amateur to be messing with. Get an estimate. Then, figure how much you'll save when considering the inconvenience and cost of having sewage cleaned out of your basement and see which is better.
