Share your favorite sources for fall-planted bulbs
I myself have planted thousands of bulbs, and when I lived in the Hudson Valley, my go-to sources were John Scheepers (www.johnscheepers.com) and Brent and Becky's Bulbs (www.brentandbeckysbulbs.com). I've also ordered some species crocus from White Flower Farm (www.whiteflowerfarm.com). This year I have ordered from two companies new to me as I am sourcing bulbs that—fingers crossed—will do well in Florida. They are Old House Gardens (www.oldhousegardens.com), which specializes in heirloom bulbs, and The Southern Bulb Company (www.southernbulbs.com). I'm expecting those deliveries late this month or in early November.

Houseworks Unlimited, Inc. on Oct 07, 2013When I think of Florida, you don't think of bulbs! I have family above you in Jacksonville and I have to laugh when they it gets cold in the winter. I guess once your blood thins-out, anything below 60 is freezing. Thanks for the tips.....I've been meaning to do this for years. This will get me motivated.Helpful Reply

MaryAnn B on Oct 08, 2013For lily bulbs, B&D Lilies in WA state sends the biggest bulbs of all. You won't be disappointed. Schreiners Iris in Oregon is great for iris and Swan Island Dahlia in OR is awesome and sends great stuff.Helpful Reply
