What is the chalk paint everyone on Home Talk is talking about? Please
Please can anyone tell me where to buy thin painters tape. I'm looking for 1/4' or less wide. Thanks! Linda

Lisa T on Oct 06, 2013I believe they are talking about Annie Sloan chalk paint. It's a very thick paint that is used on furniture. The beauty is that there is no sanding or priming prior to painting. I just recently redid my dining room table and buffet using this paint and I love how easy it was to achieve the desired look. There are quite a few YouTube videos on the process.Helpful Reply

Julie Moyna on Oct 06, 2013Yes ASCP you will see a lot of. I am new to using it and completely addicted. However I am having withdrawals due to it is kind of pricey. $38.00/quart! And you need the clear and dark waxes for it to work it's magic. They last a while. The pros are that you don't need to sand or prep! You just paint!!!Helpful Reply

Terra Gazelle on Jan 08, 2016Its chalk paint.. its called chalk paint because of the finish..it has a soft antique like finish. I make my own..and yes you can paint furniture, doors, cabinets almost anything with it. You can seal it with a soft wax or a clear poly. I love chalk paint and making my own makes it affordable for me. I use Johnsons Finishing wax..they have clear and dark.. at about half the price of the Annie Slone brand. Chalk paint is fun to use..I am doing a 100+ year old chifforobe.it was damaged pretty bad..but is looking rather nice so far. Look up on HT for the chalk paint recipes..there are several so try which one you like the best. Good luck and have fun.Helpful Reply
