Make These Giant Acorns For Fall

Try to guess what these big acorns are made from. I laughed out loud when I realized that these giant acorns started out as plastic Easter eggs from the Dollar Store!
I decided to use the bigger eggs so my acorns would be oversize. First I painted the plastic eggs with brown craft paint.
I hot glued the egg closed then wrapped it in burlap, pleating the edges and hot gluing liberally around the top. Then I used pine cone petals and a twig for a finishing touch.
Go to my blog to see what I did to tweak this design and make my acorns mimic the shape of real, wild acorns.
