Z on Oct 08, 2013Oh no! Naughty doggie is right! The only way I can think of taking it out would be lots of water and a shop vac with the filter removed for sucking out the excess water. This is my go to solution for all carpet spills and it does the job even when hubby spilled red wine on a new area rug. The only problem you'll have is the dish soap will be very sudsy making the job take even longer and with the potential of leaving soap residue that can attract more soil. Since doggie spilled allot of dish soap I advise renting a Rug Doctor for more suction power on a wider area at once unless you have squeegee attachment for you shop vac and lots of muscle behind to press the attachment into the carpet to force as much moisture up the hose. Oh and open the windows and turn on loads of fans to dry your carpets so you won't leave the chance for mold. I know I mentioned area rugs above, but I've been using this technique since we owned our first home 30 years ago and our son spilled red Koolaide on our beige wall to wall carpet.Helpful Reply

Madelyn Bird on Oct 08, 2013I would suggest renting a carpet shampoo machine, You have way to much soap to do this manually. The amount of water that you need to filter threw the carpet, and the fact that it is the most concentrated brand does not help. If your carpet it close to time to clean you could double your value for the rent price. I am extremely frugal and rarely pay for anything I can do myself but trust me, you will be hours hauling water and emptying the vac. Withe the machine you will know when its all out. If you go manual you might be tempted to finaly say good enough but....soap left in carpet will act as an adhesive to dirt and there you go to rent a machine anyway.Helpful Reply

Janet Smith on Oct 09, 2013Call a good carpet cleaner if you want to save the carpet. You may have to remove the carpet in that room and replace the pad since it acts a sponge. Once the carpet is out of the room, it can be cleaned thoroughly and replaced. Even if you CAN get the dish soap out of the carpet, if it remains in the pad it will continue to wick up through your carpet.Helpful Reply
