Sharon Russell on Nov 08, 2016I've never really seen a true Murphy bed, other than in movies. In one of my kitchens, though, a previous owner had built a Murphy table. They started out by nailing wood strips to the wall, inserting narrow little strips crosswise which made very shallow shelves. Hinged at the bottom, and made a wood table attached. There was one center leg that also was hinged .You could fold it up and latch it to the frame up high toward the top for more floor space. This was a tiny little kitchen so the table was perfect for seating 2. Thankfully there was a dining room through the doorway for seating a crowd.Helpful Reply
