Use totes that are slid under the bed. Attach vinyl shoe storage with the pockets to the back of the bedroom door and attach it by putting tacks in it on the top of the door so there are no nail holes showing. Also can be done on inside of closet door unless it is a sliding door.

I taught my children to put the toy they were tired of playing with away when they took another out, if they were playing in the common areas of the house. They could have multiple toys out if they were playing in their bedrooms.

I had to move in with my parents for a few months with my four small kids while my husband was on deployment and we were waiting to close on our house. I only allowed them a few toys at a time - boxed up the rest and every other week we would rotate them in and out of the storage boxes. It keep them interested in new toys all of the time and the mess was much less. We also kept the toys only in certain rooms - there were No-No Rooms such as the living room, that they could not play in. We taught them to respect my parent's house and their privacy. Good luck.

You need to impress upon your daughter that there is a place for everything. Have a designated spot for toys ...make it a game with the kids to put toys away where they belong. Each kid gets one box. New toy comes into the house, two toys get donated to a local children's chairity. This system teaches them to pick up & to share.

I have used the box 75% of the toys up/outof site and rotate them method too and it works!

make designated toy areas. we have two in our house (and a 5 year old and a 2 year old) those are the areas for those toys and they aren't allowed elsewhere. I also only keep out a portion of the toys we own. every two weeks or so I switch a few of them for the ones I'm storing. it makes the kids feel like the toys are always exciting.
