Recent flooding damage some of my furniture, how do I restore wood?

Many people on this site use coconut oil in a tub.

You have a few options. The first is to rub the affected area with mineral spirits and 0000 steel wool. Wear gloves, and do this outside. Let it dry, and apply Tung oil-get it at your hardware. You can do multiple coats. You can also try the tung oil first and check your results. The second is to sand the area down and do tung oil or spray polyurethane in a can. If color is an issue stain first after sanding. Hope it helps!
