Plan to buy some rain barrels but need to know .....

The Garden Frog with C Renee on Oct 18, 2013just a thought~Before you buy, why not think about spray painting the blue rain barrels? You can purchase plastic primer and use any color spray paint (I use Rustoleum). Or build some sort of enclosure to hide them? The plastic rain barrels sold are at least $99 and up and are not much prettier for the money.Helpful Reply

Originals by Rhonda on Oct 18, 2013I don't understand? What is there to know? They are usually just a barrel with a top that has a screen to catch leaves and keep out mosquitoes and then they have a spout on the front. Very basic item.Helpful Reply

Becky P on Oct 18, 2013my rain barrel was white, and it would get green algae in it, so last fall I sprayed it black. The spray paint is still going strong, not peeling. My barrel came from a local truck wash, which had soap in it. Works just as well as a store bought one.Helpful Reply
