DIY Shabby Flowers

I love shabby. All things old, actually. I love the thought of a history in the life of something. I assume that's what draws most to antiques. New is just too....well, unused. These shabby flowers are new, but they have the look of age. They appear to have a story to them. They are really easy to make, generally using materials that are laying around from other crafting projects. There are more detailed instructions on my site...just click on the link.
I made all of these while watching TV one evening!

With a few strategic folds you are ready to attach your scraps to the base.
layer another row that is slightly smaller than the first
accessorize the center and fray. There are more detailed instructions on my website....this is a fairly detailed tutorial.
I accessorized some of my aged book stacks with these.
Here a coffee bean bag pillow has a darling accessory from a shabby flower.
A shabby flower attached to a flip flop is the PERFECT finishing touch.
I love this big ole shabby flower attached to my leopard bag
