Halloween Decor Indoors (mostly)

Two weeks ago (October 7th 2013*), I ended my HT entry with the photograph featured in my "feed" image (first picture) for this posting. This particular photo-op is of the cast of characters I had planned to "employ" as visitors to an indoor succulent garden, a garden that I have atop an armoire in my kitchen that not only contains unusual succulents, but is a garden visited by an array of characters throughout all the major and minor holidays as well as in ordinary time.
I referred to this fact in my previous entry here on HT as well as one that posted some time ago. (INFO @ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/176625616609091182/)
In any event my visitors for Halloween 2013 have inspired me to not only place them strategically in my succulent garden (which has been quite festive at this time in bygone years**) but, this year, they are enjoying the interior of an armoire in the main room of my studio apartment, and, while doing so, are adding ambience as well as inspiration to my work space. This is something you might surmise from seeing them gathered together in four different groups within my armoire.
But I am getting ahead of myself. The four groups of Halloween visitors who initially gathered in my armoire did so to have a dress rehearsal before moving into my succulent garden, where other visitors are already gathered.
Some of the directly aforementioned visitors will be leaving for the season, while others will stay, and a master of ceremonies (Mr. Moon-In-The-Man) has been elected (rather self-appointed) to oversee the comings and goings in the succulent garden. He can be seen in the second and third photo-ops of the images included with this entry.
Two of the characters that are currently in my succulent garden that may be leaving soon are featured in photo-op number four. They are my flower girls who help me tend my succulent garden from spring to harvesting time, and even though they work inside, they insist on time off from gardening during the period of late October through spring.
Another pair of visitors, a princess frog and her beau Lucifer, also take a hiatus at this time and they can be seen in image five. Frogs, who live outdoors in the northeastern portion of the USA, go into hiding in late October or early November. And Lucifer, as well as his gal pal — even though they live indoors within my succulent garden — are no exception. Like the aforementioned flower gals, Lucifer and his lovely friend insist on a vacation during the period of late October through spring.
This being said there are a couple of characters who have become more or less permanent residents and these are Humpty Dumpty (image six) who is a permanent guest and a bass playing frog who is a semi-permanent guest (image seven) as he is a musician and although he is constantly playing his tunes, he does leave at Christmas time to give carolers a chance to visit.***
However, as seems to be my standard, I have digressed from my intent of discussing my 2013 Halloween cast of characters. They are still awaiting their cue from the master of ceremonies (Mr. Moon-In-The-Man) to move from their dressing rooms within my armoire to the stage of my succulent garden.
In order for this cast of characters to easily acclimate to the conditions in my succulent garden — being under grow lights — I have recently installed lighting within my armoire as seen in images seven and eight.
The Halloween visitors are extremely theatrical and, therefore, they truly enjoy the opportunity to be lit. Thus far the visitors have divided themselves into groups A-D and their photo-ops can be seen in images nine through twelve.
Between now and Halloween they will be making their way into my succulent garden under the direction of Mr. Moon-In-The-Man, and I will post their story-lines with relevant photo-ops as the events occur, so please stay tuned.
Meanwhile before I close, I am aware that I titled this entry "Halloween Decor Indoors (mostly)," and so I will leave you with a few photo-ops of how some folks in my hood have decorated their brownstones for Halloween.
AND I'll see you soon here on HT with my series of four posts on the antics of the characters in groups A- D as they occur in my succulent garden!
