Paint That Looks Like Wood and Pickled Finish
I used a sub par library table and changed it from cheap to chic. A light coat of Cece Caldwell's Seattle Mist on the top, then several layers of an easy homemade pickling solution. I layered one thin coat of Cece Caldwell's Seatle Mist to start. Then I added about 5 coats of home made pickling solution. Paint on, it dries fast. It will change over the next few hours.
The base is painted in Cece Caldwell's Vermont Slate.
Take a Mason Jar, or approximate size. Fill with steel wool pads. Pour in White Vinegar until steel wool is completely submerged. Seal tight. Let it sit for a few days. What you will have left is almost a rust looking solution.
