Hammered Metal & Ostrich Skin Finishes With a Roller

Create beautiful finishes using my easy and fun Decorative Pattern Rollers - make Ostrich Skin or a Hammered Metal looks in no time at all!!!
To get started you will need some Texture/plaster - I recommended my brand ArtsSyVille Embellishments Texture Medium (this was developed for using with the rollers) - You will trowel on a thin layer, approximately 1/16th to 1/8th of an inch thick. You just need enough material to create the pattern.
Once you have the Texture onto the surface, while the product is still wet - you want to roll the pattern roller through it. With the Ostrich Roller - you can either roll through once which will give you a Ostrich Skin look or roll through several times and get more of a Hammered metal look.
Once you have rolled through the texture medium - I like to use my clean trowel and lightly knock down the high pecks the rollers make - this way you will not have to sand when dry and it also created more depth.
The sample below is paired with one of my Rust/Patina finishes - the Hammered Metal look was created with Modern Masters Metallic Bronze paint, Debi's Design Diary DIY paints and Copper foil.
Let you creativity loose with one of the many different roller patterns and have fun creating - they work on just about any surface - walls, ceilings, floors, furniture and cabinetry to name just a few - you can also work on canvas, fabric and clay!!!
