    I believe it was 1916 that Ireland gain its Independence. My parents who were born in 1893 and 1894 were still living in Dublin while this war for independence was being fought. My mother said she could hear the gunfire and bombs exploding just blocks from her home. I doubt very seriously if the Cross of St. Patrick wasn't removed then that there will be any change. I love the design of the British Flag and what it symbolizes.
