Not sure what these spots are on my basil plants. the leaves are getting all curly on the new growth. I don't think it is the same things causing but I don't know and I wonder if it is eatable...

    right, that was my first thought but it is in a sunny spot in a well drained planter.

      @Doreen Nestell my basil looked like this all summer no matter what i did, and i was afraid to eat it. Its the first time ive ever had it do this.

      @Julia I water both ways depending on the sun. here in FL. I water the ground in the day time and I spray at night.

    It looks like botrytis cinerea

    I was going to say it looks like Botrytis also. It's a type of mold. you could try taking off the diseased leafs and the top layer of soil in the pot. I would also stop the spraying at night.

    Thanks so much yeah I looked it up on google now that I had the name and yup they had lots of lictures and it is a nutrient overload.

    pick off the damages leaves, be sure to not touch the good ones with your hands after you handle the bad, it will spread the spores. Keep it dryer and watch out for fungus knats next.

    I just cut those spots out at the kitchen sink when I prepare the basil for use. Still alive.

    Slug trails...or bugs..but I usually just pull off the yucky

    it is mold. the leaves may be getting too wet, just remove the moldy leaves

    Yes, it is mold. cutting the leaves off and suggest to replant it in fresh soil.. I would also agree to stop watering your plant from the top, especially in humid Florida.
