Peel and stick tile sheets

I have some very dated 90's kitchen back splash tile. My husband doesn't want to remove it and there really isn't any money to do a new one. Has anyone had any experience using the peel and stick over existing tile?

To be honest with you in the long run it will be more cost effective to remove them and do your project correctly. Research your local Home Improvement stores for closeouts.

You need a smooth solid base for any tile installation. The old tiles will need to be removed.

There is a possibility if you prime the old tiles the peel and stick ones should stick as long as the old surface is prepped properly.

I had peel and stick tiles in my kitchen for 12 years! Just had new flooring put in and the workers had a time getting them up, so they stuck really well. We had no issues with them, and the floor was not too level, so they worked for us for a long time. The tiles were stuck onto an old hardwood floor. I'm assuming the previous owners used some extra glue since they never popped lose over the years. Also have them in our bathroom with no problems. Easy to replace if needed.
