Can you repair an acrylic counter top?
It's not a huge hole, but it's right out in the open and completely through the surface material. Any ideas how I can fix it without completely replacing the whole top? It's in otherwise good shape.

Jessica C on Oct 27, 2013You can purchase a porcelain repair kit at Home Depot. It comes with a tiny brush and a jar of poxy-type resin that fills in the hole. I have repaired chipped sinks in the past and the damage is barely visible afterwards.Helpful Reply

Dee on Oct 28, 2013CA glue works wonders. You can even add color. I did this on granite and you would never know there was a hole. But I have also used the porcelain kits for a bathtub and it did a good job and has not chipped.Helpful Reply

Dee on Oct 29, 2013Any kind of super glue would work. You can even color it. Put the glue in the hole. Let it dry completely, take a straight edge razor and shave off the extra at a 90 degree angle. All fixed.Helpful Reply

Randy on Apr 12, 2015If it us is"Corian" type solid surface material, 1/2 " solid material, Treat it just like wood. I would use a random orbital sander. 100 grit,200, then 400 finished with a random orbital "Scotch Brite" Even cracks can be repaired to "invisible" . You could even grab a gouged fill plug from underside. Though no longer licensed fabricator, I did use super glue to laminate up edges on one job where I didn't have seaming glue.Helpful Reply
