What kind of material are your countertops made of?

If your counter tops are laminate or a flat surface you could try this product cheap , durable and easy to do-- plan on using myself in near future. www.instant-granite.com

That is pretty nice. One issue it only takes heat up to 122 degrees. Must be careful. I have one small area of countertop that is stained, it is not near the oven so I may do that , or look for more ways to do them all:)

@KATHLEEN QUINLAN I agree heat would be an issue but I think that would only be a problem setting something hot on it-- shouldn't get that hot being beside oven I wouldn't think. From my research the granite film will have the same problems as a lot of other counter top materials : laminate-( which I have in kitchen can't set anything hot on or cut on) painting. none of these can withstand heat really or cutting on.. The Film would probably cut the easiest, but all would ruin with heat. I'm going to use the film on counter tops we are going to build for craft room designing. Good Luck and be sure and post pictures of what you go with

Hi- If your countertops are Formica you can use a product from Rustoleum called countertop restorations. Its very inexpensive and looks like concrete. You can read the DIY instructions and pictures here: http://countrydesignhome.com/2013/01/18/a-counter-effect/ I cannot tell you the long-term wear because a little while later my daughter decided to get granite countertops. Good luck!
