From Oversized to Slim

So last year we were given a tree, it was fairly large for our living room, but we used it anyway. After Christmas, we were thinking of getting rid of it, but decided to keep it.
We pulled out the tree early to see if we could turn it into a slim tree before we went out and paid so much money.

My husband first thought maybe he would cut branches, but trying to cut was taking forever. Then, I came up with the idea of trying to fold the branches inward.

So we begin with the lower branches, and worked our way up!!
I must say it turned out very nice, can't wait to decorate my new slim tree!!! Will post later with decorated pictures.

Would that make it harder to store afterwards when Christmas season is done? I would like to try but wonder if it is going to be more difficult to store again....if the branches need to be stretched out again to store then eventually the wires will break by being bent and unbent over a period of time.
