William on Nov 14, 2016You can sand the rust off or use a rust remover/neutralizer Krud Kutter Rust Remover and Inhibitor, LOCTITE Rust Remover and Neutralizer, Evapo-Rust Rust Remover. Spray with a paint made for metal, Rustoleum, Krylon, etc. Use several light coats for a smooth finish.Helpful Reply

Anne Maassen on Nov 20, 2016Rustoleum makes some very nice metallic spray paint. I used it on an old cast iron bed. It turned out great. My daughter used what was left on some old garden urns and they look great as well.Helpful Reply
