Piano Bench Makes The Perfect Porch Coffee Table

Have you ever thought of using an old, lidded piano bench for a coffee table? My parents used one for years, so when we started building our new screened porch, I started searching for one. A yard sale, which turned out to be a horse-barn sale, yielded a beautiful old piano bench with lovely turned legs. It just needed a couple coats of outdoor paint, and ta-da! The perfect coffee table, complete with storage for magazines, candles, and a lighter. Total cost = $7 (I already had the paint, left over from another project.)

Old piano bench + new outdoor paint = perfect coffee table for covered porch
Old piano bench, as found in a horse barn. I felt like a real picker! No extra charge for the cobwebs, $7
Painted with leftover paint I had on hand, the storage (for sheet music) allows space for magazines, candles, & a lighter. This is why a piano bench makes the perfect porch coffee table.
