Water based primers...

I'd like to know if it's possible to whitewash wood using white water based primer? Thanks...

    Indeed you can - IF it is raw wood, or has previously been painted with water base paint. No way if it as an oil base surface already, unless you sand it.

    Agree .. but I'd thin the paint using more water .. a lot more water. The pigments in today's paint will give more coverage and less wash otherwise

    Welcome to Hometalk! A lot of knowledgeable people here. You would have to water down the paint 50/50. But you can use any kind of water based paint.

    What William and Babalu say is true; however you can apply it undiluted and wipe off with a cloth as you go to get the look you desire
