117135 on Nov 09, 2013Chalk Paint is a paint patented by Annie Sloan. You can make a version of it yourself using Plaster of Paris, but it is not as nice as the ASCP. The best thing about CP is you do not have to primer with it. This saves time and money since you are eliminating a step in painting. There are many techniques you can do when using CP. The best thing is to go to the website and see the techniques. http://www.anniesloanunfolded.com/products/chalk-paint.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Nov 09, 2013I am also a believer in certain paints. I like CC, Anne Sloan, Plaster Paints, and I am getting ready to try Shabby Chic paints. I started out making my own. There is a difference. I was a big believer in being very frugal. Here's why I am very careful with paint. You need to read everything before you add it why? Something's are toxic. I also pick up each can of paint and read it, I started to pick up a additive the other day to make suede paint and read the back and it has cancer causing agents. It is banned in California. I wanted it for a table and to think someone sitting at a table eating and I out something that could cause cancer. If I sell, keep or give away a piece of furniture and I also re-do a lot to re-sell for a charity I want it to be safe and usable. So I am supper careful and make sure the others who purchase it are safe and protected. It is worth the time and investment. Painting with these oaints I can tell a difference, not as much sanding. I don't like the feel of the paint on cloth. That is just me, I am very weird about the texture and feel of stuff and to me I don't like the feel of it. But many like it. Try it on something before you use it.Helpful Reply

Brenda Hoyt on Nov 09, 2013I've used it on everything except fabric...Not sure I want to try that. But you can also get additive for a lot less and add it to ANY color of latex paint. It's called Websters. I bought some but haven't tried it yet.Helpful Reply

Sherrie on Dec 27, 2013the problem with CECe and Ann Sloan is only certain retailers can sell it within so many miles of each other. I needed to pick up some CeCe I ordered to finish chairs and their closed for a week....I hate that part of it! But you can order I online also.Helpful Reply
