Uplifted concrete walkway and stairs
-
Crystal Meyer Griffith on Nov 21, 2016The only way to fix this is to dig between the concrete and the tree and sever the root that's causing the problem. After awhile, the root will rot and the concrete goes back down. As for the current issue, you'll have to either have someone move the stairs and section of walk to remove the root now or else post a big sign saying TRIP HAZARD pointing to the concrete. Not many other choices unfortunately.Helpful Reply

Dani on Nov 22, 2016it depends on how much the concrete has lifted. if it's not lifted to much you could try grinding down the concrete so that the tripping hazard is no longer. we had a similar issue with our sidewalk and that's what our son did for the issue.Helpful Reply

Christina Gude on Nov 22, 2016That might just work!!! But one area of "uplift" is about 3"....but I will ask someone their feelings on this. It's stable as the tree that caused it is no longer there, so this really MIGHT work!!!! Thanks so much!!!!Helpful Reply
