Advice for painting a fireplace hearth?

My cement fireplace hearth is stained and I want to paint it with a "marbelized" look. I've seen this paint for walls, but not cement. Any ideas?

you can buy floor paint for cement floors that works very well. I painted my fire surround with slate grey tile paint to good effect.
