To clean my oven racks i run hot water into the bath.dissolve a dishwashing tablet (powerball tablet ) into the water.you can melt it in a cup of very hot water if you like..place dirty racks in to soak overnight.
Light scrub the next day and your racks will be sparkling.
I like to put mine either in the bathtub or in a garbage bag then I let them soak in a mixture of vinegar, water and baking soda. It's easiest when they can soak, but if you don't have a tub (or don't want to dirty your tub) a garbage bag works great too.

For standard cleaning, use a soapy sponge and hot water to wipe the racks. For stubborn messes, soak oven racks in hot water, dish soap, and a couple scoops of baking soda. Let the racks soak in this mixture for 15 to 30 minutes before scrubbing clean with a soft sponge.
