You can glue aNoth smaller mirror on top to cover the peeling, and still keep the antique look
You can try Looking Glass Mirror Spray Paint. Won't be perfect, but a descent coverup.
There are professionals who will re-silver your mirror - it will look great - not too expensive
Resilvering works well but will make any scratches on the front more visible. I'm a fan of old mirrors and consider the age of them charmin.
Sueellen I'm in your camp as I am also a fan of old mirrors, as they have such a rich patina and such a great feel. I have had mirrors re-silvered when giving as presents and the finished result was great. I much prefer the older silvered versions, each to their own whatever makes you happy :)
