Cleaning the Floors With Hydrogen Peroxide.
Once and Done by Armstrong. It's at Home Depot and Lowe's. Add it to a bucket of water, mop and that's it. Doesn't have to be rinsed. Have used it for years. A builder told me about it years ago.
I used something years ago called Soilax, which sadly is no longer available. HD & Lowes both carry Dirtex which is supposed to be the most similar. It worked some minor miracles for me (used on old, hard linoleum; heavily soiled, varnished cabinets and old furniture).
OK - I gather that replacing the darn thing is out of the question. Therefore - resign yourself to seeing a floor that appears dingy - but YOU KNOW IS CLEAN!! We've used a mildly diluted vinegar & HOT water solution - using Scothbrite pads - on tile/marble/wood floors that look unredeemable - with surprising results! Don't be surprised if it needs a few 'attacks' in the beginning. Linoleum - particularly old lino - is extremely porous. Consider sealing it immediately after spending the time & hard work to get the built up grime out of it.
