Need help with my Medinilla Magnifica

Not sure whats going on with my Medinilla Magnifica But its been getting nasty looking a while now not sure if its an insect or what When I bought it it was producing leaves a lot. Now it seems to be at a stand still Any help would be greatly appreciated

This is a new plant to me Alice, but, from what I've read, it hails from rain forests in the Philippines and therefore likes very humid conditions. I'm suspecting this may be the issue. Most of the cultural instructions I have read suggest daily misting with water. I don't know where you have this growing, but it is very intolerant of cold and will need to brought inside if temperatures dip below 50 degrees. The flowers on this plant are quite amazing, so I can see why you were attracted to it. Good luck!

Hi Doug I have it on my Lanai and it gets morning sun . I cut it back half way. Hope this will encourage it to start growing better Thanks

Alice try rooting pieces you cut back says starts easily from cuttings :)

Alice, if it doesn't perk up right away, I would agree with Douglas and suggest you mist it daily. All plants do best when the conditions they are in mimic their indigenous environment. :) Best of luck to you!

Try moving it to your bathroom. I have 2 Peace Lilly seating in my bathroom--both have grown..needs repotting... and have several blooms. Good Luck!
