DIY Birdseed Cakes for Bird Feeders

I'm giving a new bird feeder a try this year called the Birdola Stacker. It's designed so you can stack different types of round birdseed cakes on it and attract more types of birds. I came up with a recipe so I could make my own refill stacker cakes for this feeder, but I'm sure this recipe could be used to make any type of hanging birdseed ornament as well. And while I was at it, I adapted another recipe so I could make some more square cakes for another one of my bird feeders.

Mary Thorne on Jan 29, 2014I bought mine at Menards. I appreciate the recipe, because I think the purchased feed is pretty costly.
