I need an idea for an inexpensive non skid stair runner

Debbie Harris on Nov 18, 2013An inexpensive fix is no skid strips. You can get them from your local hardware store (Lowes or Home Depot or even Walmart I think) They just stick on and you cut to desired length.Helpful Reply

Jeanette S on Nov 20, 2013We needed a short one for 3 steps going down from the kitchen to the den. I wanted a darker color because of spills (coffee, etc) from people walking to the den. I priced a runner at Home Depot and they can be expensive and the patterns were too Victorian or too modern for me. I then went to Kohl's and bought a bound runner. Perfect width. Hubby put screws through grommets at the top, stapled it under each ledge and at the bends. When he got to the bottom, he cut it off to size and put it behind the new piece of quarter round. You could buy several...probably 3 to 4.Helpful Reply
