Turquoise Chalk Paint On An Old Coffee Table

Here's the before and after of my FIRST chalk paint project....and I love it!
After a catastrophic house fire decades ago, we bought this "temporary" coffee table at an auction for $7. It is sturdy and heavy enough to withstand everything we've done to it so we've never replaced it. It was also dark dark walnut brown.
I found a simple chalk paint recipe online using baking soda. The recipe is on my blog and everywhere on Google. I chose this turquoise blue paint because I'm kind of a color freak.
I wiped it down and masked the top edges. This paint adheres really really well!
The carved door is plastic! After painting I used Minwax Polyshades in Maple to give it that aged look. Brush on, wipe off until it looked just right to my eyes.
I couldn't find my sanding block so I used emery boards. Necessity is the mother of invention!
And here she is less than 24 hours later! I LOVE the way this pop of color brightens up my livingroom! Not only does it look good.....
It really stands up well to the family! I call that a win win. Now, I bought this buffet for $20....I wonder what it would look like in turquoise blue?
