DIY Farmhouse Inspired Tablescape {for the Holidays}

If you’ve been following my projects, then you know I like to do as much DIY as I can…and as inexpensive as possible.
It all started with a trip to the fabric store and dollar store…where I do my best thrifty shopping.
I ended up with a roll of burlap ribbon, some lovely pink placemats, and some off-white lace doilies.
I still can’t believe I bought lace doilies!!!
Well, I took the pink placemats and doilies outside and spray painted them! The placemants became charcoal grey (thanks to Rust-Oleum spray paint) and the doilies became metallic antiqued brass (thanks to Rust-Oleum spray paint).
I simply cut a piece of burlap ribbon and tied it around my folding chairs (yes, I used them daily...I wasn't saving them for a special occasion like this, hehe).
I layered the placemat, doily, a couple plates, a piece of burlap, and topped them with a gold bell. I also added some gathered burlap around a few artificial plants. And ta-daa! A pretty, farmhouse inspired table setting!
