Our Updated Pink Powder Room

When we bought our home, our upstairs bathroom was navy blue n brown polka dot wallpaper with a dark brown vanity and didn't have a shower in it, just a bathtub. It looked like it hadn't been changed since 1922 when the house was built and when we began scraping wallpaper we scraped and scraped and went through 6 layers of it. (see below)
Pink Powder Room
It was very dark which made it look and feel even smaller too.
We tied in the older brown tile with the pink walls with a pretty shower curtain
The walls were so bad when we got to the base that we knew couldn't paint over them. We had a friend show us how to dry wall over and then we painted them a pretty shade of pale pink.
This hangs on the outside door
We took out the vanity and replaced it with a little larger white vanity and hung a vintage inspired mirror and light fixture.
The before, sorry this is a pic from my phone, blue n white polka dots paper, brown wood vanity and scary linoleum
We kept the existing brown tile around the tub as it was in excellent condition and found a shower curtain that tied the pink and brown together and of course LOVE the chandeliers on it.
Here's a better shot after we had been scraping 6 layers of wall paper
We researched and found a great splash guard to put above the tub and protect the walls when showering. We had a friend install a shower head and ran a pipe up the side wall for a minimal cost too. The flooring was bad old linoleum and we found some white n grey marble like tile at Home Depot and got help installing that too.
Here are a few scraps of wallpaper we kept.
It definitely was a ton of work but so worth it and so happy we didn't have to spend thousands. We were so happy with the room when it was done and it was much bigger and brighter looking too.
We added pretty pink roses and accessories
Then we just added pretty pink roses and accessories. More details on the blog and if you like vintage or shabby cottage chic and pink roses come on over and check out our kitchen too.
Take time to smell the roses and smell pretty too
