Our Updated Pink Powder Room

When we bought our home, our upstairs bathroom was navy blue n brown polka dot wallpaper with a dark brown vanity and didn't have a shower in it, just a bathtub. It looked like it hadn't been changed since 1922 when the house was built and when we began scraping wallpaper we scraped and scraped and went through 6 layers of it. (see below)
It was very dark which made it look and feel even smaller too.
The walls were so bad when we got to the base that we knew couldn't paint over them. We had a friend show us how to dry wall over and then we painted them a pretty shade of pale pink.
We took out the vanity and replaced it with a little larger white vanity and hung a vintage inspired mirror and light fixture.
We kept the existing brown tile around the tub as it was in excellent condition and found a shower curtain that tied the pink and brown together and of course LOVE the chandeliers on it.
We researched and found a great splash guard to put above the tub and protect the walls when showering. We had a friend install a shower head and ran a pipe up the side wall for a minimal cost too. The flooring was bad old linoleum and we found some white n grey marble like tile at Home Depot and got help installing that too.
It definitely was a ton of work but so worth it and so happy we didn't have to spend thousands. We were so happy with the room when it was done and it was much bigger and brighter looking too.
Then we just added pretty pink roses and accessories. More details on the blog and if you like vintage or shabby cottage chic and pink roses come on over and check out our kitchen too.
