Start with white vinegar mixed with water and a dab of dawn.If that does not work use cabinet magic available at Home Depot.
For heavy build up use TSP. trisodium phosphate.
Varsol and a fine nylon scrubber. This works on baked-on oven grease as well.
Murphy's Oil Soap works well for this; when used straight out the the bottle (not diluted at all). When done, use damp rag/sponge to get rest of the cleaner off.
Tsp! But use gloves!rubber gloves.
I use dishwashing powder to make a paste.

Janet, above-mentioned, and I do it the same... White vinegar and Dawn. After they are all nice and grease free I buff mine up with Murphy's.
so how much vinegar how much water/ dawn? a drop a squeeze?
Dishsoap/Dawn cuts the grease and Mr.Clean eraser thingie works wonders. Make sure to try on an inconspicuous area first 🙂
