How about a brand name for the overflow kit? You probably need some type of overflow tube or hole that redirects the excess water from the barrel back to the downspout. Did the kit come with some type of "T" adapter for your downspout? If no "T", is there some type of float mechanism that simply stops the flow of water into the barrel?
The overflow kit is by Fiskars.
Did you make sure you got the right size for your downspout? You need to place the black box onto your a down spout at the same height as the hose on your rain barrel
Please mail a photo or diagram of the barrel size, downspout location , size and any other detail you have.
Any garden supply store would have the attachment for the down spout. I love mine and feel good about using the water when drought conditions come about.
