My friend Shavon wanted to have some fun by painting an accent wall in her living room! Here’s how to do vertical wall stripes for minimal cost.
Accent walls are a great way to bring any room in your home to life. They provide a long-term benefit for minimal cost and really create a wow-factor when guests come over!

The first thing to do is measure the wall. Since Shavon’s wall is 91 inches across, we decided on 7 stripes.
Next, we took our frog tape (also known as painter’s tape) to outline the 3 vertical stripes that we would be painting.
Now, we’re ready to paint!
We started at the top and bottom of each stripe with our paintbrush, then we used the roller to fill in the middle.
We allowed the stripes to dry for 2 to 3 hours but you can allow them to dry overnight to be safe.
Once we peeled away all the frog tape and did a little cleanup…ta-da! Shavon now has a beautiful accent wall to be proud of for years to come!
Shavon had a great idea. You can take this wall one step further with an inspirational quote!
