I LOVE the wooden garage door look, would you consider something like these?
Locate some local door and window companies and ask for estimates. Estimates are generally free. Talk to friends, neighbors, and co workers and see if anyone can refer someone. Make sure you get at least three estimates, ask for references, and check them out online for reviews.
installing and uninstalling garage doors is fairly simple. The doors come in panels. You can purchase garage doors at Home Depot or Lowes. They deliver them. The package comes with instructions. Or you can find the instructions on how to install them online. With two people it takes about 6 hours. My husband and son did it. You first have to unhook the garage door opener if you have one. Then take out the old door by unscrewing the bolts for each panel starting at the top panel. If the railings are in good shape then you don't have to replace them. The instructions that come with the doors are very easy to follow.
If you buy a door at the local building center, they usually have names of contractors that do that sort of work. I just had mine changed but a brother did it and I watched. It was work I could not do but he seemed to have no trouble.
