Vickie Lanham on Nov 28, 2013You need to sand it smooth but not necessarily to the wood. Sanding roughen up the wood so that the paint has something to stick to,good luckHelpful Reply

Cowan Cottage on Nov 28, 2013usually just take the shine off, but in a kitchen I would also use TSP or krud cutter to make sure there was nothing in the nooks and crannies :)Helpful Reply

Mikell Paulson on Nov 28, 2013I agree with Cowan! Krud Cutter will make sure that the paint is clean and help remove the shine! Then paint with the primer! Good luck!Helpful Reply
