A few solutions that I've used:

      1. Have an old dresser (Doll size) that my Grandpa built for my dolls. Not having a daughter who played with dolls, the dresser stood in the attic. Being an antique buff, I decided to put my dresser to great use: bought several of those flat ring holders, that jewelry stores use, and put one in each drawer. Not only is the wood beautiful, but my doll dresser has a sentimental value---and holds my ring collection!

2, Love earrings and have nearly 100 pairs that I've collected over the years. In my bathroom I have one of those wall cabinets that is constructed from woven materials. The front of the cabinet was the perfect place to 'store' my earrings (by color) while also making a creative, eye-catching wall hanging.

      3. My daughter-in-love created her earring holders by purchasing beautiful, smallish frames ( 8"x12"and attached screening to the back. Makes a lovely wall arrangement that she can add to over the years. Although the frames are all different in size and shape, she has kept an organized theme by finishing them all in the same wood stain, allowing color to be added by her earrings. Truly lovely!

      4. She then selected a smallish, unused wall and put pretty hooks all in a row. On the hooks she hangs her necklaces. Again, creative, lovely and organized!

      5. There are, of course, some nice looking over-the-door jewelry holders that store tons of items....from earrings, bracelets, necklaces, to scarves.

Laurie Grenier (Shark Tank) and on QVC made her fortune off a jewelry cabinet. Check it out. If it is vauable, and you fear loss, you need a home safe, there are many good and reasonably priced ones on the market. Gun safes are large and can hold a lot if you add shelves.

I had a 10 x 18 bulletin board with a cork board background that I wasn't using and I put some cute push pins on it and I hung it on the wall in my bedroom. It makes a cute place to hand my necklaces.

Other than my jewelry box, I use a man's tie holder in the closet. Works great!

I use a paper towel holder to store my heavy/chunkier bracelets....and a small ceramic dish to store rings....and a couple of peg racks to store necklaces....each pegs holds several, and I group them by type/colour....also, I framed a piece of plastic canvas, and hang my earrings on it, on the wall....not too much dresser top space is used, all in all. Hope these ideas help!
