How to beautify an electric fireplace
-
Debbie Harris on Dec 02, 2013Ornamental add-ons will help with the façade and are easy to do. Adding a piece or two of 2" thick lumber in graduating sizes to the mantel is also easy, and lumber stores or home stores will cut the wood for you if you need them to. For example the first piece added can be 1 inch wider and longer than the current mantel, the second piece 1 inch wider and longer than the first. Attach the first piece to the existing mantel attach the second piece to the first. Use screws and wood glue. Once dried paint your new fireplace the charcoal color you like because is sounds good and you might play with the antiquing wax also, depending on the look of the rest of your room. Because it's a fireplace make sure you give your paint job plenty of time to cure before plugging it in and using it, just to be safe. Good Luck!Helpful Reply
